I recently started my blog and received some feedback that an “about” page would be helpful, so here goes. I’m an aerospace engineer who has worked as a deep technical guy and as a senior manager. I have worked for myself, for small companies, and for large corporations. I design things, build things, test things, and get things into the hands of the user. I’ve worked on airplanes, satellites, telecom systems, software projects, and even the space shuttle. I’ve also spent a bit of my career in business development where I create business plans and market and capture strategies. I manage large teams and spend time with clients to figure out their needs and how I can help them. I have spent endless hours writing technical documents and proposals describing technical work.
I enjoy being active and spending time outside with my family, friends, and furry sidekick, Scout. I’m from Washington, DC, but now live in Colorado. I ski, snowshoe, bike, run, hike, backpack, and go on walks with my wife. I do most everything full speed and have the surgical scars to prove it (ouch). I’m finally starting to learn that this is not always the best way to approach things, so I guess I’m gaining wisdom. I find joy in life and gain strength through my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray for those that don’t know Christ, that they will experience the simple joy of God’s love, there is nothing greater.
This blog was created without much planning, to try something new. To let out the inner writer in me, not the technical guy, but the guy with some imagination and a desire to express something beyond numbers, formulas, and processes. I knew I wanted to try something new, but not knowing what, I decide to just start something. That something became this blog. The topics are one man’s perspective about the life around us.
My sincere hope is that you will enjoy this blog, find some humor and some things to think about. I hope that you will engage and respond. I look forward to the interaction!
